Not all characters are the same. Riverdane has many races and groups, each of which is unique. Short descriptions of all of them can be found here, with greater information in the list on the left.
Mortals: the absolute majority of Riverdine’s inhabitants, initially the weakest and owning the very least of magic skills. These are vendors and artisans, mayors and rulers, station regulators and bank directors, waiters and policemen - it’s the mortals who have those jobs.
Angels: Born in Eden, the ‘up above’. Angels are incredibly powerful in terms of magic, high morals and incredible skill when it comes to healing. They do not age and are really hard to kill. The worst enemy of the Angels are considered to be Demons.
Demons: Inhabitants of the Lower World, endlessly scorched by the flames of Hell itself creatures, the blood of which is worse than the strongest acid. Loners, they mostly are stronger than angels are, yet not as organised. Immune to age, swept clean of morals and conscience, absolute egoists and great connoisseurs when it comes to souls - that’s what a modern demon is.
Fallen: Those angels who are detested by their brethren and chosen not to be seen among the ranks. They lost immortality and the ability to fly, all connection to Eden and are forced to hide around the world. They live for about another 100-120 years after the Fall. Preferred food for crazy demons.
Halfwings:
Born by the bond of an angel and another Eternal (a were-creature, a nymph, a demon). Because of their wing colour they’re considered outcasts, they aren’t trusted and rarely are given tasks. They use mixed abilities from both sides.
Blackwings: A special kind of Halfwing, the children of angels and demons. Caring little about their feathered, black wings and pale appearance, they act freely along both Eden and Hell. They aren’t very liked by the mortal society because of their link to Hell.
Vampires: The first Eternals of Riverdine, told to have been living shadows. At one point they tremendously feared the light, but have long since invented a defensive spell and freely roam in any weather. Even if they aren’t immortal, their lifespan is really long and they tend to find death in combat. The new generations are quite interesting, since they can only have children only from someone of their same species.
Were-creature: Another one of the “original” evil in Riverdine. Affected by strong negative emotions and external factors, their animal form manifests, changing the outer appearance of a normal person into an uncontrollable, wild beast. Ignoring the absence of magical power as beats, were-creatures are really dangerous opponents because of their resistance to any kind of magic.
Nymphs: Immortal spirits of nature, always of the female gender. Quite peaceful, they stick to pacifistic and altruistic ideals and prefer to live in villages. Even if the grand majority of them detest violence, they always unintentionally kill their partner for reproduction.
